has-contrast-3-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary objective of this project is to advance the state-of-the-art in analyzing error sources affecting <strong>Computed Tomography (CT)<\/strong> measurements of <strong>lattice structures<\/strong> produced via <strong>Additive Manufacturing (AM)<\/strong>, and how these errors impact the calculation of their mechanical properties. To this end, specialized algorithms will be developed for surface extraction of nodes and struts within the lattice. Additionally, these algorithms will be optimized to detect internal porosities that could compromise structural integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To quantify measurement errors, intercomparison with calibrated metrological systems is required. However, since no other non-destructive system can measure internal lattice geometries without sectioning, a major challenge involves designing <strong>specific artifacts (standards)<\/strong> that simulate lattice geometries or structures designed for safe sectioning to allow measurement via microscopy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the project will establish a protocol for predicting final <strong>measurement uncertainty<\/strong>. Based on existing standards (primarily <strong>GUM, ISO 15530-3, and ISO 15530-6<\/strong>), methodologies will be developed to define uncertainty contributors, including test frequency and repetition.
